Hi,
I would be happy to help out if you send me the files.  But start by looking at the .prj file created with the .shp file.  Is there one?  If you open the .prj file (use notepad), are they correct?  Try right clicking on a layer and manually define the CRS them zoom to the layer extent. Has it moved?  Look at the defaults option to see what do do when a file has no CRS (bellow the on the fly option).  Select "ask".  If that fails, send the files to Nicolas.Cadieux at Archeotec.ca.
Or you can just open your kml files in google Qgis and save then as .shp!
Cheers

I use the dxf2shp-plugin. But both dxf files are in different coordinate systems (resp. Dutch RD & Belgian Lambert72). The location of the drawings is be the same, but whenever I import both dxf-files there are many kilometers between them? Of course, 'on-the-fly-projection 'is on. One dxf consists of points, the other one of polylines. What am I doing wrong? The dxf-files themselves are correct. If I save them as a KML-files and import them in Google Earth, they are spot on on the same, exact location. ?? best regards Ferry     Ps:of course I’m willing to send the named files in question. If anyone is challenged ;-) With best regards Ferry van den Oever Specialist non-destructief onderzoek 06-101 533 76 Saricon Postbus 92 3360 AB Sliedrecht +31 (0) 184-422538 www.saricon.nl     _______________________________________________
