[Qgis-user] 3D Moon models with QGIS

I am curious about the capabilities of QGIS. I came across this
interesting project to make a 3D map of the Moon, but now I would like to
generate routes (rover traverses) based on slope data, specifically the low
slope route between two point locations.

Is that possible? Any tips or tricks would be helpful.
