[OSGeo Africa] Upgrading OS X Mavericks with QGIS and OpenGeo Suite

Dear OS Geo colleagues,

Those of you with Macs will probably be aware that Apple brought out an upgrade to OS X (called Mavericks) and it is free to all users of Snow Leopard+. I took the plunge and I am happy to say that after downloading and re-installing the dependencies (GDAL, etc.) as well as QGIS 2.0, QGIS and pretty much all the plug-ins are working fine. QGIS rocks on Mavericks!

Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble with OpenGeo Dashboard, so from my own experience, I would say that if this is important for your work it may be a good idea to ignore Apple's push to get you to upgrade for a while until Boundless sort this out. Alternatively, create a Linux partition and use OpenGeo Suite from there. Are there any Mac users out there who concur? It would be interesting to know if this is a general problem or if it is just a quirk on my machine.

Regards,
Charles Rethman.
