Hi all,
I'll be able to help on the OSGeo stand. I'm also willing to help with a FOSSGIS workshop - a QGIS course or demo of QGIS capabilities or something like that.
Regards,
Frank.

Subject: Re: [OSGeo Africa] AfricaGEO stand representing FOSS GIS Hi all
I'll be there and will help man an OSGeo stand. If we can't find one
benefactor (or negotiate some free space?) then I like the idea of
pooling resources.
OSGeo does have a budget to help out with exhibition materials, so we
must apply to access that.
The deadline for papers has been extended to 31 Jan: I encourage you to
submit a paper highlighting any aspect of FOSS GIS, where FOSS GIS has
been used, case studies, etc., so that advocacy extends to the sessions.
I'd also love to see FOSS GIS workshops happening, either concurrently
or on either side of the conference. I'm sure there'd be enough of us
with interesting workshops to present. Anyone willing to run with that?
Some other cool ideas could be to tack on a local SOTM (State of the Map
- Openstreetmap) event one one side of the conference and a FOSS GIS
Developer hackfest / code sprint on the other side. To make these happen
requires volunteers - anyone up to running with these?
