There is nothing wrong with that‎. Why should it shatter? That's what the position requires. Which system should be preferred and why? Those systems should be as competitive as Esri products.

Another ESRI only government position. When will that glass ceiling shatter?

Re: Job description: GISc Technologist Position (Grade A – C)

The Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning is looking to appoint a GISc Technologist on a 9 month contract. The main purpose of this appointment is to support CapeNature in and shorten the time taken to complete the revised systematic conservation planning for the Western Cape. This information is required to inform the Sandveld EMF Project and many other strategic documents. The person will be stationed at the CapeNature offices and will report directly to the CapeNature conservation planner.

Please see attached the job description for the GISc Technologist position. The contract position is not being advertised in the newspapers and the Department thus approaching the GIS sections of CapeNature, Department of Agriculture, SANBI and DEADP to help to circulate the job description.

The Department thus requests that you please circulate the job descriptions in your networks. Please also copy me in when you send out the job descriptions so that I have a record of whom it has been circulated to.

Candidates should submit their CV’s with a cover letter (stating the position for which they are applying) by Friday, 19 June 2015. If there are any questions of clarification, please contact Paul Hardcastle or myself at the details below.

Kind Regards

Liza Petersen
