Hi Cameron,

I would think it depends in which direction you want to specialise. We
use R software quite a lot for assessing our remote sensing data in a
research environment. I saw some free courses for students presented
through ACCESS, if you want to subscribe to their newsletter.

Good luck!
Heidi

Hi all,

I am currently working within the GIS industry and looking to expand
my
knowledge and abilities. I am still fairly new to the industry yet
have
noticed an increase in the use of SQL.

I currently hold a Masters degree in Environmental Sciences but want
to
add to it with the addition of SQL courses. I have looked at Microsoft
accredited courses namely 70-461 (Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012),
70-762 (Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases) and 40-763
(Implementing a Data Warehouse with Microsoft SQL Server 2012).

Can the professionals within the industry please advise me as to
whether
these courses will aid my GIS career and potential or are there
specific
courses which can be recommended to me?

Any advice in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Cameron Muller
