Hi All,
Could the friendly botanist or field teams be consulted to ask about the purpose of the line along the long axis of each "oval"is- there seems to be trees/ bushes growing in a line through the middle of each "oval"?
Regards,
Mike Caister

Subject: [OSGeo Africa] "crop ovals"
Hi All
I have consulted my friendly botanist Dr Phil, and these ovals are indicative of dryland wheat farming in the Sandveld (i.e. wheat farming at the extreme limit of production). The aim is to minimise wind-blown sand, by retaining areas of natural veg between strips of wheat. Suppose it could also be rye.
So, they are due to aliens … edible ones.
Regards
Kate
