For those who are interested, here's the list of bids for the '08 conf.
I've downloaded the bid docs for all except Thailand, which don't seem
to be on the list.  From the quick scan of the docs, it would seem South
Africa and Brazil have the most comprehensive docs, but I haven't looked
at them numbers yet.

The following proposals were submitted for the 2008 conference (in 
alphabetical order):

1) Bangkok, Thailand
2) Cape Town, South Africa
3) Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil
4) Seville, Spain

The following was submitted for the 2009 conference:

- Sydney, Australia (official interest)

All have been sent a receipt email notifying that a decision will be 
announced on July 30th 2007.

All proposals are available on http://www.osgeo.org/conference/rfp

Thanks for all of the excellent submissions, and all of the hard work 
already done.

OSGeo conference committee members: please reply to the previous email 
regarding scheduling next week's committee meeting to review the 
proposals with your availability
