Hello Chris,
I think Andrea's response handled Shawn's questions well. The goal is
to start planning for 2010 as soon as possible, and to come to an
agreement on the exercise details so that each development team can work
in those parameters.
With respect to ERDAS and ESRI participation in 2009, ESRI informed the
benchmarking organizers directly about their decision and it was handled
very professionally. Please Chris, I ask that the ERDAS team for 2010
let us know their thoughts directly, and not resort to personal blogs to
let the world know about our "water gun fight".
It would be great if you want to lead the ERDAS Apollo team for the 2010
exercise. The proposed timeline for the exercise can be found at
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Benchmarking_2010 We can all work together
to make sure that everyone is happy with the exercise. I think it's
great that we're talking about 2010 already, to give everyone lots of
time to ask questions and discuss on this list.
Thanks!
-jeff
