I say "Publish and be damned!".

The results are true, even if the differences between RHEL and Windows Server 2008 skew the file-based data source results. Andrea and others have been completely open about this throughout, acknowledging that the Linux-based servers get "10 times difference". I have no reason to doubt that they will make this clear in the presentation materials too. Whether or not the audience will care as their prejudices are being reinforced is another matter...

I'm running an abbreviated best effort against PostGIS (no reprojection run to save time) and that, I think, will provide an alternative comparison.

While it would have been nice to have MapServer on Windows figures to compare against in all cases, I realise that the short timescale, the workload everyone has, and the unfortunate dead server delay meant that this wasn't possible.

I hope to have my results in the spreadsheet later this morning, and to see some or all of you tomorrow.
