Folks,

Attached is another excellent email on the exec. director topic Jo
raised on the foundations email list.

I agree with almost everything Evan except where he talks about an ED
"directing" volunteers.  I don't see that as quite the right view.  Sure,
sometimes the ED may be providing some coordination for volunteers but
ultimately volunteers work on what they are interested in, not what they
are directed to do.
