We have lined up an Open Technology Development conference in  
Washington DC on 14, 15 March.
It will be run by AFEI and held at the Hilton.

the 15th will focus on OSGeo and its projects with an emphasis on  
demonstrations and showing these technologies are mature, backed by  
commercial entities and should be used in government projects and  
programs.

I'll be working with mpg and Tyler to organize the agenda and speakers.
