Hi guys, a few updates for you.

- Your "promo packs" have been mailed out today. Sorry for the delay. After my daughter did such a fine (and enthusiastic) packing job, I found it difficult to get to the post office ;) While you wait for the postal service, you can see what's in them in this video:

Anyone else on this list want some of this stuff? Let me know, especially if you think a potential sponsor could benefit.

- Speaking of videos... I'm going to corner a few folks during my upcoming UK (June) and Pacific NW US trip (July) to get some video interviews that I can post for OSGeo promotion. I'm also doing a virtual video presentation for the Quebec OSGeo rendezvous meeting in June. If you ever create something and need a hand cleaning up the footage or posting online, let me know, I'm just getting up to speed but think it's doable.

- Managing contacts - I'm in the middle of setting up a website instance (built on http://civicrm.org/) and will introduce you to it when ready. Basically, we can use it to pool potential sponsors and you can use it to find sponsorship progress and other contact info as well.

- Membership management - after I get the above done, I'm going to take another look back at setting up a few more ways of helping members self-identify as members. This is becoming more important as we try to track the growth in the OSGeo community over time, etc. When asked how many members we have, how do you answer? Just mention the <100 voting members? Doesn't sound nearly as impressive as it can :)
I'm looking at simply using Drupal user profiles so people can register, check some boxes and be done. I will also add in some features so they can identify which projects they use or work on, where they live, etc. so we can all get to know each other better. This will create a truly interesting database in a similar vein as the service providers directory.
A few other things going on, keep in touch!
Tyler
