Hi,
this information never showed up anywhere?! It is a pretty important
decision so I think it should be communicated to a broader group
before going ahead.

Checking here:

there is no link to the IRC logs.

Did you meet at all? How, where? Results?

Not many will go to as much effort to find what you have talked about.
One of the lessons I learned since I am not on the board anymore is
that there is a lack in communication. Instead of just complaining I
would like to help, so if I can do anything, write a summary to OSGeo
discuss or anything, please let me know.
