It seems to me, reading the Bylaws, that the legal AGM of OSGeo ("Annual
Meeting" section 8.2) is the virtual "meeting" (vote) where new
Directors are selected.
How about "OSGeo annual symposium"? Symposium means literally "drinking
party" (sic!), but it is commonly used as a synonym of the word
"conference". According to some web sites symposium is less formal than
a conference. Some definitions of a symposium emphasize the discussion
of one topic.
