[Board] OpenSUSE Board Meeting - anti-patterns abound

Patent protection is one of the reasons to join a software foundation. In the case of OSGeo we are often hiding behind GRASS as a massive source of prior art. 

I have at watched at least one feature dropped from GeoTools due to patents. I am sure other projects have similar stories.
