[Board] Sprint surplus over at CUGOS...

Hi all,
I would like to mention that for Bolsena has I've never asked for OSGeo financial support (Bolsena was listed as if it might have done so in the past).
Last year and three years ago we had a donation from FOSSGIS. Those were used for overall cost reduction the first time and improvement of the facilities for last time.
Cheers,
Jeroen

He is setting up an open budget/reporting spreadsheet for the event which will include reporting for this amount (as was done for most previous editions). I say we can decide on how to deal with the 2014 surplus after the sprint (go through OSGeo, or directly to Philly team).

However, if OSGeo can help manage the finances (or carrying the surplus from year to year) of an activity without too much overhead then I'm all for it.

Same for local FOSS4G/OSGeo events in several regions of the world. In the case of the C Tribe sprint, it is not even asking for money from OSGeo, it got its own sponsors year over year and accumulated a surplus over the years, so I see no reason to force the sprint to be managed by OSGeo unless it helps the organizers in some way.
