...we have conflicting ways of naming paths, one is short, the other
structured - sometimes for the same page, and all can be addressed via
their id:

This is somewhat brittle. Plus we had changes in Drupal so that some
short references "trademark" did not work anymore. /me no Drupal Fu, so
cannot fix generically.
