Dear Till and Adams,
first of all thanks for your contribution to the discussion.
I have to say that I don't like to be in the position of feeling myself
responsible for the eventual failure of the FOSS4G 2016, nor I like it
could be ever argued.
I just want also to make a few notes:
- as stated at the beginning of the FOSS4G handbook (
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G_Handbook): It is a continuous work in
progress and is a *guide* rather than a *rulebook*.
- formally, not all of the OSGeo members in place have still voted, so
the motion is still open and no decision can be taken
- my vote is motivated and raised some arguments that has not been
answered yet
I have some questions then:
- instead of claiming for the *point-of-no-return* does anybody took
time to put together the requested information to help taking a decision on
that? (how goes in numbers in past events on revenue, guarantee, etc...?)
- Why this decision cannot be postponed to the new board? Is one month
lethal? Why?
- If OSGeo state that it will provide financial support without
specifying a limit, does it mean that any amount is admitted?
