[Board] Board Digest, Vol 107, Issue 30

Hi Maxi,
It is great that you are taking your Board responsibilities seriously.
FOSS4G is OSGeo's primary income. Viewing a pie chart of OSGeo income
since founding might compel others to take FOSS4G more seriously.
Someone could compile that data and present it, maybe more people
would take FOSS4G more seriously then.

Yes, a dialogue should happen with the intention of satisfying all
parties. (I think Bart's point is that there is no point in other
Board members voting since already all parties are not satisfied).
I don't agree with your suggestion that "and information as required
shall be provided." OSGeo has no employees and no one to order to
provide information. Furthermore, OSGeo is culturally and
functionally a do-ocracy. So if you want this information provided
and no one else wants to provide it to you, it is your decision to
undertake finding it yourself or deciding that you don't actually want
the information. I gave some earlier links with part of the
information and suggestions of where you could find this information.
I haven't seen you undertake finding additional information or adding
what I linked to to the wiki, like here,
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G#Overview_of_past_conferences_and_attendances.
With some effort I have found additional information, Here is part of
the 2007 information that you are requesting,
https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/conference_dev/2013-July/002249.html.
2009 is in that thread too. 2008 too. If someone wants, they can
compile this information in a logical manner somewhere that you and
future Boards can easily reference and use for important FOSS4G
decisions, or it can just go into the mailing list archives. Who do
you think should answer your questions and provide information?

I think that on the historical information, you are the most likely
source for this information. Asking the current or formers treasurers
to help might get you some additional information. For the other
information (estimates for 2016 from Till), I think that Till has
provided most or all of that.
With sincere cooperation, Eli
