We in Boston very much appreciate this discussion and advice. Just a couple
of quick points:
- Our preliminary budget includes allowances for free/discounted passes,
ranging from sponsors, to LOC members, to student/volunteers.
- We are very interested in having a travel and/or "free pass" grant
program and will definitely be communicating with conference dev as needs
and opportunities become clearer. We very much want diverse participation
including geographic, ethnic and economic means diversity.
- The best way to have a more generous grant program is to have more
paying customers. We will be vigorous in seeking new, paying attendees and
sponsors.
We will continue to pay close attention to these discussions...Thanks
again...
