[Board] [FOSS4G 2016] Fwd: Re: [Journal] Feedback: [FOSS4G Proceedings] Reminder - Publication of papers of the FOSS4G 2016 Academic Trac

Dear Venka
Thanks for forwarding. I'm a bit surprised by the request. I believed that the organisation of the Academic Track and everything related was on voluntarily basis. I have been chairing for some years both the International and European, producing Proceedings as well. In the case of FOSS4G Paris we published with ISPRS and we chose the less expensive option comporting that the most of the work for preparing the Proceedings was on the shoulders of the chair (in this case it was me).
I'm fine with every decision, but I want that everything is clear in order to avoid having people doing activities and being paid and other people doing similar activities without being paid.
Before voting, probably I need more pieces of information for better understanding. Probably there is something that I am missing.
Best.
Maria

Dear All,
I am forwarding a request from Academic Chair of FOSS4G-2016, Bonn
regarding funding for formatting and layout of OSGeo Journal issue
incorporating selected papers presented at FOSS4G-2016 (adademic track).
The request is for 1200Euro, for 24 hours of work @50Euro/hour.
Is it OK to start a Loomio voting to consider this request.
Best
Venka
