[Board] Fwd: UPDATE: Open AR Cloud (OARC) is Ready for Liftoff!

Part of my email was to consider what our partners are asking - if having
some financial ties are important to their story we can set that up ... if
a partner sponsors us and we can turn around and use that money to "cross
sponsor" or take out a "membership" if that is what they need to see.
Personally I find "guest" memberships like we have with LocationTech to be
more straight forward...

I want to be sensitive to groups that work in this fashion (with financial
ties) and provide an avenue for them to work with us (even if they do not
like the "cross sponsorship" approach especially much). It is our role as a
board to build up these relationships so we can experiment with how to do
that works...

Speaking of ... I would like to see much more recognition of how *we* work,
and emphasis our expectation that partner relationships produce solid
participation in our open source community. It is not quite enough to
promote the use of open source, I would like to see OSGeo promote
participation as a key benefit of of our approach. *If our partners are
only using open source we are doing them a disservice, they are missing out
on the value of the approach.*
