Dear board members, dear Mike,

Following the request from FOSS4G Europe 2025, I kindly ask you to consider supporting the conference TGP. Quoting from their message:

"Regardless of the outcome of this request, we want to emphasize that the TGP will be carried out as planned. However, as with any conference, organizational costs tend to accumulate rapidly, and we would greatly appreciate OSGeo’s financial contribution to help cover part of the TGP expenses.

This year, we are supporting 12 grant recipients, and the total cost of the program is approximately €5,700. This includes:

     Conference tickets
     Workshop participation
     Travel and accommodation expenses

  
Any support from OSGeo — even partial — would be sincerely appreciated and would go a long way in helping us maintain the program’s integrity and accessibility.

Thank you in advance for considering this request."

Personally, I urge you to discuss this matter as soon as possible, eventually making an online motion. I created this message about three weeks ago but due to a failure of the email server, it was never sent to you. I just realized now. Through the past experience, the Conference Committee is fully convinced about the past importance of the TGP, especially in areas with lower income, and kindly advise the Board to support the organizers despite the hard financial situation of OSGeo.
