Ok, so NACIS doesn't have an exhibit hall, they eliminated it to keep
out commercial aspects.
But they have offered us a speaking slot, poster and flyer space.
That all sounds good to me, especially since the paper submission
deadline passed more than a month ago.
What do you guys think, they might give us a whole hour if we want to
bring in several speakers from the group and maybe do a panel?
(This is Oct 7ish in Sacramento)
Thanks,
Alex

Dear Alex Mandel,
My apologies for the lateness of this response to your email.
We would very much welcome your participation at the NACIS 09 conference in
Sacramento. The NACIS conference is a little bit different in that, at this
time, we do not allow vendors to set up tables or booths, or to give
software workshops. We created this policy to keep it non-commercial.
I understand OSGeo is also about keeping mapmaking non-commercial, however,
so that makes it a strange policy in your case.
Would you be interested in putting together a presentation that would fit
into a half hour or hour timeslot? That would be something that could fit
into the conference. We have also offered people the option of displaying
posters and making brochures and flyers for the registration table.
If you would like to talk it over on the phone, I would be happy to go over
some details with you. I can call you or you can call me at 740-590-9978
(Eastern time zone).
Again, we would be thrilled with the participation of Open Source Geospatial
Foundation and would like to find a way to encourage that!
Thanks and looking forward to talking to you,
Margaret Pearce
