All,

Jeff Orton Chair of CalGIS2011 (www.calgis.org) has approached us
looking for a last minute replacement to teach a workshop entitled
"Introduction to Open Source GIS with PostGIS, MapServer, and OpenLayers"

It's an 8 hour workshop for about 15 people on March 28 in Fresno.

I imagine they would feed whoever did it, possible compensation for
travel expenses (gas or train ticket) has been discussed, and they have
offered OSGeo booth space or other sponsorship opportunities too at the
conference.

8 hours seems like a lot and the range of expertise could be varied so
I'm somewhat interested in a tag team effort(Carpool starting in the Bay
area?). I know I could cover the basics but I'm not particularly adept
at Mapserver.

If you think you want to do it, Solo or as a team let me know and CC Jeff.

They need to know if they have instructors before Monday otherwise
they'll cancel the workshop.

Thanks,
Alex
