[California] FOSS4G - OSGeo Chapter Lightening Talks

Hi All-

  It turns out that there will be OSGeo Chapter Lightening Talks next week. 

So any chapter taht shows up gets slides and hmm.. 5 minutes?

  Please consider what you would like to hilight !

Since it is Lightening Talks the gestalt is sort of over-stimulation,
so if people all wanted to submit one slide each, even with no
matching graphic design, it might be fine

  I can start off by saying I want to hilight the FLUX Net event at
the David Brower Environmental Center, sponsored by the College
of Natural Resources at Berkeley.. I gave out LiveDVDs, and I know
at least one of the attendees there will be at FOSS4G. There were
about 150 PhD presenters and participants, with a theme of building
an **interoperable** system of measurement for carbon and
moisture uptake in various ecosystems worldwide. Of course,
FOSS geo has a great role to play there.. Many OSGeo projects
are likely to appear in tons of supporting roles
