Chapter members:

I haven't posted anything to the web yet, but the Central California
Valley Geospatial Professionals Group is going to have its second
meeting Spring Meeting on Friday, March 16th, from 11 to 1. Lunch will
be provided. The meetings for the group are held at the SSJID office
in Ripon.

Bruce Joffe is going to be our main speaker. He is going to talk about
strategies for licensing of public geospatial data. I'm looking for a
second speaker. Please let me know if you are interested in speaking
at the meeting. If you can't speak, I hope you will be able to attend.
The meeting is attended by the GIS staff of several local government
agencies, and is a good opportunity to talk with prospective clients
if you are a GIS consultant. I haven't had the same success as getting
my group off the ground as Ragi, so let me know if you have
suggestions on how to keep things moving forward.

Before the March meeting I hope to coordinate the formation of
Utility, Public Land Survey System, and Flood Hazard Management
working groups. The groups will focus on standards for the exchange of
GIS between public agencies, other data sharing arrangements, and the
application of GIS to solve problems of the local communities in the
working group focus area. Please let me know if you are interested in
taking participating in one of the working groups.

Thanks.

Landon
