If one of the gps hardware co's step up as a major sponsor and are happy
to donate a suitable gps unit, we could run a coding comp that utilised
the capabilities of the device. Functionality requirements to be
announced on the first day of the conf (including code being under an
osi license and they /must/ provide suitable interface data about the
device) and the most creative effort by the end of the conf is declared
the winner and awarded the device. Creates buzz and value for the
sponsor, fun for interested developers, and may even lead to some useful
software.
Just a thought.
