[OSGeo-Conf] Nominating Prof. Maria Brovelli to Conference Committee

We currently don’t have a schedule of formal meetings. Most business is transacted through the CC mailing list with ad hoc calls or IRCs when needed (e.g. to discuss FOSS4G bids). If the view of the members is that we should have more formal meetings then we could institute.

Summary of current business (others may want to chip in with additional topics or corrections):

We have a vote closing today on the motion to provide seed funding of up to $70k to the FOSS4G 2017 team.
We have an outstanding request for membership from Maxi with Venka and Cameron’s support. I asked whether we should vote and no one else has replied. Once that is resolved, we may want to consider whether we need criteria for committee membership and eligibility for voting for the selection of global FOSS4Gs
We await a proposal from FOSS4GNA as to whether there will be a North American regional event in 2017 in addition to the global event. Once that is resolved, we may want to consider whether there should be a formal policy or process to manage potential competing events under the FOSS4G or OSGeo banners
We will start the RfP process for FOSS4G 2018 immediately after 2016 closes, it will probably be a good idea to review the RfP documentation and requirements before issuing again as there have been several suggestions for improvements.
