Folks,
the period for the nomination of new OSGeo Charter Members has ended. We
have a great list of people nominated and seconded by members and
friends of OSGeo. See for yourself:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/New_Member_Nominations_2013
In my role as CRO I checked back with all nominees, followed all the
links and learned a great deal about where Open Source geospatial
software, data and education has already spread. We are blessed with a
wealth of diversity and success stories, it was a great experience to
see so much interest.
Thank you to all who took the time to write a nomination, find links,
check back with the nominees and everybody who supported or seconded
nominations.
I will now suggest to the board that we accept all 35 nominees into
Charter Membership and spare us the frustration of (more or less
arbitrarily) excluding 5 great people who are eager to support OSGeo.
The next round of nominations will be for the Board of Directors
starting 2013-08-03:

Thanks,
Arnulf
