Doing a bit of research ahead of foss4gna to review out membership. If I
understand correctly, our membership rules
<https://www.osgeo.org/about/membership-rules/>, ask people to sign up on
the website, or wiki, or ...
* If I review the members page <https://www.osgeo.org/community/members/> on
the website, this gives us 370 or so.
* The wiki osgeo member category
<https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Category:OSGeo_Member> provides listing 1258
people :)
The other useful page is that of charter members:
http://bl.ocks.org/jsanz/raw/779f9b9954b92461fa50/ (thanks to Jorge Sanz),
which should total around 390...
So this puts is in the unexpected spot of having more "charter members"
then "members?
Reviewing "participants" the best proxy seems to be unique mailing list
subscribers, coming in around 30k.
