[OSGeo-Discuss] Elections 2018 update

I feel bad about this because I would have liked to be more active in the election process and being busy with other tasks I forgot about the dates. I was planning to introduce strongly GeoForAll Iberoamérica in these elections so as to have more charter members from this region. My apologies for not being able to do it. I will try it the next time.

Dear all,

Just a quick recap of the 2018 Elections:

- Vicky Vergara and Jorge Gustavo Rocha volunteer to help the CRO. Thanks!

- We got 36 valid nominations. We are still expecting some confirmations
from the nominees. For this reasons we are extending the first stage of
the charter members elections with 48 hours. However, no new nominations
will be accepted. Only confirmations of nomination acceptance from the
nominees.

- The electronic voting system is ready for charter members to second
the nominations, preventing the last year stress of seconding via the
discuss mailing list. Nominal vote invitations will be sent to all our
charter members on 10 of October. Thanks to SAC for setting up the
electronic voting system and to Vicky for her magic scripts.
