Folks,

I haven't been following this discussion very closely, but ultimately I
think the foundation is going to value and support materials provided under
true FOSS licensing standards for the same reasons we apply them to software.

I don't question anyone's right to distribute training materials under any
license they want when they are creating them.  And if they are useful in
training folks on FOSS we (OSGeo) may utilize them, offer to extend them,
promote them, etc.

But ultimately the most desirable scenario will be materials that meet
the "free software test" of being able to repurpose, repackage, modify, and
so forth as desired.
