Thanks for posting your note, Luca! I've added your information to our Task F

It looks like we have at least two groups doing this kind of work -- University
of Trento and Omniverdi. I'm not a live-DVD technician so don't know if there is
a way or a need to coordinate efforts. Both groups seem like they have or can
meet some of what Gavin proposed (e.g., Linux or Windows), etc. Or if there are
others out there who can help in some way too. But these are both *great* and I
hope one or both groups have plans to get CDs or DVDs at Cape Town. I can take
some if somehow they can be shipped to me.
Finally, are any of Gavin's other ideas doable in time for Cape Town?
E.g., "Simplified and customised GUIs to lower the entry threshold (for teachers
to teach curriculum requirements of GIS; for teachers to use GIS to teach
geography and other subjects; for learners to use for hands-on work); Free,
integrated global and local data package... etc."
Anybody have ideas or energy to pursue these over the next two months?
