Dear OSGeo edu colleagues,

I'm thrilled to tell you that we now have a working Subversion versioning system
and an example of course modules linked to it on the OSGeo wiki's educational
content page. The idea of this is so people can find modules on the wiki and
then get access to your source to create new derivatives (with your permission).
An obvious point -- this will be especially helpful in keeping tutorials up as
new releases of software emerge.

1) The OSGEO EDU SUBVERSION is here:
http://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/browser/education

2) AN EXAMPLE OF LINKS TO PDF MODULES STORED IN SUBVERSION in our EDUCATIONAL
INVENTORY WIKI PAGE IS here:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Educational_Content_Inventory#Introduction_to_FOSS_GIS_using_QGIS_.8.2C_PostgreSQL.2C_PostGIS.2C_and_the_Grass_plugin_for_QGIS

3) I URGE ANYONE with available educational content to do the same... let's get
some momentum back into this group -- We at UMass can't do this alone. Thanks in
advance... and if you need help let me know. (Information on how to use
Subversion coming shortly.)

Details on our Subversion design is provided below. Let me publicly thank Maili
Page and Sasha Stepanov here at UMass Amherst for their efforts getting this
system and our modules in place, and to Tyler Mitchell for helping us with the
Subversion system.

Cheers-
Charlie

The OSGeo education subversion library is at
http://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/browser/education. Library structure:

Releases
-- Institution
---- Course name

If anyone wants to collaborate on a course, we also created an "Under
Development" directory. If you navigate to Releases>Institution>UMass you will
see our course material created using Docbook. Within that, we have a source
folder and a pdf folder.

We hope others with completed material and willing to share their source will
create their own Institution/Course folders under the Releases folder.
