[OSGeo-Edu] recording lectures

NCSU uses Camtasia Studio5 for recording lectures (most people just  
record audio and computer screen - it seems to work for distance ed  
students) and I am wondering whether there is an open source  
equivalent to this.
I found CamStudio but it looks like it runs only on MS Windows and  
with Internet Explorer?
I am looking for something that will run on linux and Mac,
