Colleagues:

One follow-up to the idea of a Peer-to-peer U course and our new
ability to do virtual meetings:

Is is possible for us to develop collectively a course that utilizes
the virtual meeting platform where some of us formally offer this
course in our institutions over the same time period/semester?

So all of our students meet once or twice a week in the virtual
meeting space and we have "guest speakers" on a topic and collective
meeting time, coupled with exercises we do off line with our students.
Faculty at different institutions could offer an experimental course
or at the very least let this be "independent studies" for interested
students under their direction. Would could even make it to start be a
1-credit course if that would be easier.

Maybe a semester-long course on "Introduction to Open Source
Geospatial Technologies" or something like that? Not sure what kinds
of students we would target. But a start could be to students in
programs like Geosciences, etc.

Does this idea resonate with anyone else?

Cheers
Charlie
