[El] rebuilding gdal

Hello,
I am attempting to rebuild the various elgis packages for use on my system at work (the sys admins do not like using external repositories). I am running into a problem (re)building gdal. For some reason, mock is not installing any of the dependencies, and as a result the gdal build is failing on the configure stage (not finding libgeotiff). I have never run into this problem before, and although I realise it is not strictly elgis related, I thought someone else on this list may have attempted to rebuild gdal as well. I am running a Centos 5.5 setup with mock from extras - I have used it to rebuild many other packages numerous times before, and it has always worked fine, so I don't believe my system is the issue. I'm not sure why none of the dependencies are being installed. If anyone has any insight, it would be much appreciated.
