Position Summary: The GuangXi Key Laboratory for Spatial Informatics
(GKLaSI) at Guilin University of Technology (GUT) invites applications for
10 positions of faculty/research professor with open ranks in all relevant
areas of Remote Sensing, GIS and Image Processing. Preference will be given
to applicants whose research applies both GIScience and Remote Sensing
technologies to topics in Karst environment analysis, natural disaster, and
UAV data processing.
The GKLaSI is a pretty new laboratory initiatively established in May 2011
and funded by GuangXi Department of Science and Technology, GuangXi
Department of Education, and matching fund of the 1000 Talent Program of
China with ¥22,000,000.00. It is estimated that the laboratory will be
invested ¥50,000,000.00 next five years. The laboratory with 5500 m2 is
located in the new campus of GUT. Associated with the GKLaSI, the new
College, named Geomatics Engineering and Geospatial Informatics, will be
inaugurated in 2012.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree at the beginning
of the appointment in remote sensing, GIScience, geography, photogrammetry,

Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidates have a record of or will
demonstrate potential for excellent research and professional development in
remote sensing, GIScience and image processing.
