[Europe] OSGeo Europe meeting with Copernicus Programme - need your input

Hi all,

a rough idea is to convince the authorities (I believe this would be the Commission) to recognise in some way the OSGeo incubation/graduation processes. Ideally it would work as a labelling system for FOSS4G, like for instance the biologic food labelling system.

The question is where would be the value for the Commission? As Dirk referenced before, OSGeo could perhaps become involved in H2020 (and beyond) grant development, or it could aid in curating software products resulting from research programmes. Think for instance of a mentorship process for research projects, where a OSGeo member would help researchers publishing and sharing their code and eventually build a community around their products.

For discussion. Cheers.
