[fdo-internals] Roadmap, Betas and Downloads

Hi Crispin,

The issue I am having with posting releases is that the only FDO build server available is an Autodesk one. This build server builds off the adsk branch for each release stream and not the official FDO release branch. Now, the adsk branches are pretty much identical, but are not guaranteed to be so. In the absence of a proper build infrastructure that hits the release branch I am hesitant to post builds that I locally produce as they are never as clean as I would like. Any help by other members of the group to setup an official build machine for FDO release would be welcome.

I have uploaded the latest ADSK branch release builds for 3.9.0 and 4.0.0 and marked them as such on downloads.osgeo.org.

FDO 3.9.0 Build L068 - http://download.osgeo.org/fdo/3.9.0/release/adsk/L068/
FDO 4.0.0 Build M040 - http://download.osgeo.org/fdo/4.0.0/release/adsk/M040/

Both these builds use OpenSSL 1.0.1m. Build L068 is binary compatible with previous snapshots of FDO 3.9.0 taken and built independently by the MapGuide team, etc.

Both of these builds are considered release quality.

Regards,
Greg

Subject: [fdo-internals] Roadmap, Betas and Downloads

Hi,

When I last posted about a year ago, FDO 3.9 RC 2 was made available for download.

The OSGeo / FDO site still lists 3.8 as current.
http://fdo.osgeo.org/

Was 3.9 ever released as final or just as Autodesk internal builds into their own products?
With MGOS based on v4.0 there needs to be an FDO-owned build of the ArcGIS provider as this is not build-able without the ESRI SDK/licence.
Will there be a v4.0 release process beta/RC etc?

I appreciate that maintaining released and roadmaps is work, but at least annual updates and releases of significant releases would be much appreciated.

 Many thanks - Crispin
