Hi,
Did any of the managed dlls get built(..\Bin\Win32\Debug\*.dll)?

I have no idea what the problem might be...

Have you solved this? I recommend a full clean-rebuild to try and solve
it. Make sure you have taken all the files from the FDO SVN.
Hi Greg,
Thanks for your reaction. I've tried to rebuild in a clean environment by still get the following error for the Managed FDO part:
Updating Assembly Version Information for ..\Bin\Win32\Debug\OSGeo.FDO.Common.dll
Error reading input.
System.ArgumentException: File does not exist.
Parameter name: filename
at MattGriffith.UpdateVersion.RunUpdateVersion.ReadFile(String filename)
at MattGriffith.UpdateVersion.RunUpdateVersion.GetInput(Options options)
at MattGriffith.UpdateVersion.RunUpdateVersion.Main(String[] args)
Project : error PRJ0019: A tool returned an error code from "Updating Assembly Version Information for ..\Bin\Win32\Debug\OSGeo.FDO.Common.dll"
No idea what it comes from (it seems the FDO\Managed\Project's are not being build), but it's fairly blocking to make a debug version.
Kind regards,
John
Greg

I believe you will have to build the FDO API before building the
PostGIS
provider. PostGIS cannot be built off of the FDO SDK files.
Follow the instructions in OpenSourceBuild__README.txt on how to build
FDO.
Here is a quick step by step set of calls for a debug release:
1) Call setenvironment.bat
2) Call build_thirdparty -w=fdo -c=debug
Thanks Greg,
The "missing" file is indeed built on build_thirdparty.
3) Call build -w=fdo -c=debug
I think I have followed the README document, but am getting the
following error on the MgCommon subproject here:
Target MgCommon:
D:\Programs\Microsoft Visual Studio
8\Common7\IDE\..\..\vc\vcpackages\vc
build.exe E:\fdo\Fdo\Managed\Project\MgCommon.tmp_Debug_Win32.vcproj
"Debug|Win3
2"
Project : error PRJ0019: A tool returned an error code from
"Updating As
sembly Version Information for ..\Bin\Win32\Debug\OSGeo.FDO.Common.dll"
Done building target "MgCommon" in project "FDO.sln" -- FAILED.
Is this familiar to anyone?
Regards,
John.

Hi list,
I'm trying to build fdo postgis from the subversion code tree, but am
running into problems. It seems that the FdoMessage.h file is missing
from the repository; it is referenced in
https://svn.osgeo.org/fdo/trunk/Fdo/Unmanaged/Inc/Common/Exception.h
but
not present anywhere.
In a source archive this file can be found in the Fdo\Unmanaged\Inc
folder, so it probably needs to be added to the repository.
Kind regards,
John
