SOLVED! without reinstall anything:
The version of postgres-postgis is too recent: i simply copied some dll's
(requested by postgisprovider.dll) of postgres 8.3.7-postgis 1.3.6 in FDO
folder:
libpq.dll
krb5_32.dll
libintl-8.dll
comerr32.dll
gssapi32.dll
ssleay32.dll
k5sprt32.dll
libiconv-2.dll

At this point connection is OK. Further errors can be logged with geomapgis
fdo provider from
http://www.geomapgis.com/web/geomap-group/fdo/index.html.
be careful: table name and fields of postgis database must be lowercase.
