[fdo-users] Compilation on 64-bit linux

The official Linux build is the automake one.

Personally, I have had more success with the cmake build on Linux-x86_64, but this does not build all of the providers. Since it hasn't been updated for some time, the cmake build is also likely a bit out of date.

I spoke too soon: nothing is making or installing libSchemaMgr_OV.so, and it looks like it's not trying (rather than trying and failing). I can't say that I understand automake/autoconf at all, but I'm guessing that something is going wrong at configuration time such that this is never a target.

I've only just started paying attention to the cmake instructions. I noticed that the recommendations they make regarding third party libraries are in line with Traian's comments. Can I infer that using cmake is now the preferred way to build FDO (on 64-bit Linux, at least)?

Thanks,
Robin
