[fdo-users] Handling of text labels

I've been looking through the FDO Developer Guide to see what it has to say about text labels, but it seems to be quite absent. I'm thinking that they must be output as points, with the text string in an associated attribute field. Though it seems a bit weak. How would someone receiving the data know about things such as size, font, text rotation?

Is there a generally accepted approach?
