[FOSS-GPS] Request for a release (was: First impressions of FoxtrotGPS on the Freerunner)

I follow FoxtrotGPS development since its early days. I'm really happy
to learn that it reached a state where it could be compiled for
Freerunner.

IMHO, as some milestones where reached, I think it is time to release
the first public version of FoxtrotGPS and add a "Download" link to
main website. Of course, this version will not be tagged as "stable",
but it is really important to release public version to offer more
visibility on the project. Since a release is done, many fans (like
me) will be able to announce this version on different media (like
blogs, mailing lists, or software directories). These announces will
then bring new users and certainly new contributors. Furthermore,
packagers will then be able to prepare package for distributions,
touching new users and potentially new contributors... and so on...

So please, release the first 0.1, or 0.0.1 or 0.0.0.1 like you want. :-)

As there is many experiment around foxtrotGPS, I also suggest to offer
hosting for release from experimental branch like the work done by
Sander. For example, such release will be renamed (like
foxtrotgps-sander or foxtrotgps-freerunner or foxtrotgps-gta02...).

Thank you all guys (and girls?)!
