Subject: [FOSS4G-Oceania] Finalising Code of Conduct & incident handling procedures
Hi all,
I'm finalising the Code of Conduct & incident handling procedures, which were mostly completed by David several months ago, with some review by others since then.
One question - who in this group would be willing to act as a 'responsible person' in the case of a Code of Conduct incident? It would involve taking an incident report, and acting on it if needed, in accordance with our policy. I will certainly make myself available to do this, but it's important there are at least a few of us available.
The procedure I have in mind is:
1. If someone contacts a volunteer or organiser, or our admin at foss4g-oceania.org<mailto:admin at foss4g-oceania.org> email, and indicates they want to make a report,
2. whoever is the first point of contact becomes responsible for putting that person in contact with a 'responsible person', and
3. that 'responsible person' then has the duty to follow our procedure for incident handling
It's a significant responsibility, but absolutely critical to have in place, even if we hope we don't need it. Can I get about 4-5 volunteers please?
Thanks
John
