Hi Mandy,

Sorry for the quiet..

This looks great please just change the length of the abstract to 500 - 600
words.
So it should read...

"Should you wish to display a poster at the conference please submit a short
abstract of 500-600 words detailing the topic and content of your proposed
poster."

Please format to look like the extension of abstract submission doc (emailed
to u earlier).

Take those dates in the programme as given.

Perhaps add something about if you missed the paper abstract deadline then
submit a poster abstract.

We need to add something about the timing for the notice of acceptance of
posters. Will a week be enough time to sort out which ones are officially
accepted? Can we get the notice to the author that it's officially accepted
by the 8th Sept? That will give them a chance to make last min travel
arrangements if necessary.

I assume that we are not including these in the proceedings? Might be tricky
with printing and layouts of abstract book/programme... they can included on
website.

regards

Inge

PS if you don't hear from me in the time frame you expect too please call me
- things are a bit mantic.. 0824188712

Hi Inge,

Please find attached draft call for posters and guidelines, to be added
to the website. Please could you and the committee check this and make
any comments and amendments.

I have sent an e-mail to Irette from the CTICC asking if they can
indicate the amount of wall space that is available for posters on the 4
meeting room landings (height and width of the sections of wall that
could be used for posters). This should assist us to work out how many
posters of a given size can be accommodated. Irette indicated that the
use of the landing space outside the meeting rooms is free as the
meeting rooms have already been booked.

The submission date of Monday and the 1st of September sounds fine. We
will however need to let people know as soon as possible whether there
poster has been accepted. Maybe we could indicate on the website when
the poster space is full.

Regards

Mandy

Hi there,

Mandy is finding out how much space we have for posters - she is in
contact
with the CTICC. Mandy is also running with posters.

Monday 1st Sept 2008 will be a good date (give authors the weekend to
finalise their submission and us 4 weeks to pick posters)

Inge

Hi All,
Yes I'm in support of later deadline submission .. Inge would that
possibly be Sept 5 2008? LOC can I add this to our deadline dates?

Going back to Paul's contribution... they had catered for up to 40
potential poster submissions... Magda, Dawn and Petro... what can we
plan for re: the space we have to play with and the costs involved am
assuming boards etc will have to be put up?

Thanks,

Regards,

Daina

Hi there,

Paul, Frank and Dave have some good points.

So on second thoughts perhaps we should make the closing date for
poster
submissions the 1st of September (4 weeks prior to the conference) but
on a
first come first serve bases? We limit the numbers to the amount of
space we
have available.

Mandy what are your thoughts?

Inge

For FOSS4G2007, people who had submitted
Presentation abstracts, and whose Presentations
were not selected, were invited, as part of the
"sorry, you didn't get selected" message, to
submit a Poster.
