Hi Gavin,

 

Just to confirm. 

 

Currently there is no financial support for speakers to come and present
their papers from our side.

 

Should this change we will let them (those that have requested funding)
know. I will file all the requests for funding by authors who have submitted
papers and we can evaluate who qualifies at that stage.

Your subject certainly is relevant and very interesting but I suggest you
follow the process of submission and try to seek funding from your employers
or elsewhere. Depending on our budget at some stage we might offer student
discounts and possibly other support, but not at this stage.

My name is Raquel Deziderio Souto and I'm brazilian oceanographer. The fact
is that I want to submit a paper to be divulged by FOSS4G2008, but I don't
have financial conditions to attend to pay the register at Conference (that
is a condition, like is mentioned at check list - step #1 of submission).
So, considering that my work is relevant (as you will read), could you
absent me of the payment ??
